Solve the linear equation

If 3x + 2y = 16 and 2x + 3y = 19 , then x + y = ...................
Solution :    3x + 2y = 16
                     2x + 3y = 19.           ( add) 
                      ....................
                      5x + 5y = 35
                        x + y.   = 7.            ( remove 5
                                                         common)
